Where The Styled Things Are x Kini Swimwear

We could not have been happier this week to see that we had been featured twice on one of our favourite bloggers’ special on swimwear! Perth based Adelle Cousins of Where The Styled Things Are launched her series of bikini reviews this month labelled ‘The 12 Days of Swimwear‘, where she trials a bikini a day. Braver than us, 12 days after Christmas, Adelle showcases some stunning swimwear from Pure Moda, Lululemon and Kini!

In her first Kini trial, she uses one of our most popular designs, the retro styled ‘Sail Away With Me‘ which is available from our ready to wear shop. This piece features a boy cut pant and 1950’s style top with an extended bodice, staple items for a more vintage inspired bikini. These shapes flatter every figure, and are especially amazing on hourglass and pear shaped ladies as it really works to emphasize your curves.

Adelle loves 50’s styles exactly for this reason too, as she told us the decade reflects a time when women’s curves were celebrated. Which is probably why it is one of our favourite pieces here at Kini, as celebrating curves is pretty much our job! She looks stunning here, chanelling pin-up style to perfection, and we were so excited to hear this lovely feedback on our piece, ‘High waisted bottoms and bustier tops are the essential pieces when going for a pin-up look which Kini kind of smash out of the water.’

Decorated in a navy and white nautical stripe, this bikini is a timeless piece, as nautical is a classic print that never goes out of fashion. Stripes have also had a lift in the style stakes for Summer 2015, and they are one of the most fashionable things you can have on your swimwear. For some ideas on mixing up your stripes for a more fashion forward aesthetic, take a look here.

For her second piece, Adelle chose another style from our ready to wear shop, this time a piece designed by the wonderful Lisa Hamilton from See Want Shop. Take a look here to see Lisa rocking her fierce design.

This piece resonated with Adelle, who has an affinity for all things big cat related, and leopard print is big news this season and we have seen some gorgeous bespoke bikinis coming in with this wild print, one of our favourites being this beautifully unique Sports Luxe inspired design from Bronte at Lion Lion Bazaar.

Lisa’s design ‘A Little Bit Fierce‘ is a true rock and roll style, with seam to seam leopard print and a smaller cut brief pant and halter neck triangle top style. Perfect for those of you searching for something a little edgy this summer.

Both of these gorgeous designs are available to purchase now or if you feel like being creative have a go at designing your own swimwear and send us pictures of your finished design, we love seeing what you come up with.
