December marks the beginning of summer in Australia, and Girlfriend mag is helping you prepare by sharing some of their favourite summer bikinis and swimwear tips. We love the way they used “real” girls for their shoot – each one has a unique and gorgeous body shape. At Kini we celebrate bodies of all shapes and sizes, so we’re proud to have one of our Kinis gracing the pages of a magazine with the same mentality.
Girlfriend styled the girls according to their body shapes. Colour blocking and frills were used to balance out Isabelle’s “hourglass” body shape. Raychel, who describes herself as “pear-shaped”, wears a floral one piece with a halter neck and side panelling. These features draw attention to her shoulders and accentuate her small waist. Finally, Hanna wears a bandeau style and low-slung briefs to elongate her body. It can be extremely hard to find the perfect bikini for your body, so Kini loves that Girlfriend is sharing some tips and giving their readers a greater chance of feeling confident during the summer season. For more bikini body advice – check out our post on how to choose the right swimwear for your body shape.
The fixed triangle top and basic pant can be designed as separates using our custom design tool, or alternatively, the “Easy Tiger Set” can be purchased in our Ready To Wear shop. It is the same leopard print kini worn by former Miss Universe Australia Laura Dundovic during her holiday in Bali, featured in The Daily Mail earlier this year.
Keep an eye out for Kini bikinis in your favourite magazines over summer. We’ve already graced the pages of Cleo, Cosmo, Elle and The Renegade Collective. If you spot us, let us know in the comment box below!

Summer is fast approaching, so we have decided it’s time to share our five essential tips for surviving the warmer months. If you want to survive the heat – take note!
1. Stay hydrated
The benefits of drinking water, as we know, are huge, but during summer this habit is even more important than usual. Hot temperatures drain your body of necessary fluids, which you need to fight off fatigue and exhaustion. As well as helping to keep your skin glowing and healthy, water is actually natures very own fat burning miracle. Use a hydration calculator to work out how much water you should be drinking each day and you will be speeding up your metabolism, curbing your appetite and stopping your body from retaining water, thus clearing water weight your body may be holding on to and helping to prevent bloating.
