Vintage swimwear has been a huge trend over the last few years, and it is currently one of the biggest styles in Australia!
The racer top style is this summers staple piece, seen everywhere from the catwalk to your local beach and here at Kini we are in love with the bold new style that is shaking up swimwear. We collaborated earlier this month with fashion blogger Bianca Melb, who created a stunning bespoke bikini in three clashing prints. Continue reading
Use your bikini as an undergarment while picnicking by a lake or the shore.
You don’t always have to wear your swimwear to swim or directly on the beach for that matter. Granted it’s still by some form of water, outdoors and in the middle of summer, you can totally get away with wearing them casually. Sling a drapey beach dress over the top; low back, cut outs, thin straps, low drop v-neck, the options are endless and each one pairs perfectly with a bikini. Allow your swimwear to peek through, use it as a bralette and if the opportunity arrives for a spontaneous dip you’re set. Make it park-side cute with a beige floppy hat and jewelled sandals, all of which brings the outfit together for an adorably put together finish.
Add to your beach wanderer look with a flowy maxi.
Take a new approach to classic swimwear and the bikini-only look and pull on a floor length maxi that splits up the side and dances in the wind. This look not only provides a little extra covering for chilled winds and sunset walks, but will also have you looking more chic and put-together. Feel like a mermaid as you lounge and dip you ankles into the water, the longer and more flowy your skirt is, the better. Top this stylish look with an oversized floppy hat or fedora and large round sunglasses to add a little mystery and really bring it all together.
Get streetwise and wear your bikini under a summery outfit.
Distressed denim shorts are a cult classic in beachwear, a staple item for summer and carries your on-the-beach bikini to the streets for a little side walk shopping. Throw on a drapey lace cardigan and let your bikini peek through or loosely tuck a muscle tee into the shorts for that easy breezy beachy look. Stroll down the sand to the local outdoor cafe with this look, adding a wide brim fedora and high-street style birkenstocks to complete the look making it a full outfit. Let your bikini be an addition to your outfit, rather than something only worn near the water.

Stripes are in. Nautical, black and white, it’s a trend of 2014 and seen everywhere, it’s a classic. We love it and bloggers love it, the question is – how do you wear it?
That is a question we’re about to explore with blogger Kristin Sundberg and her stripey custom Kini Swimwear ensemble of eye catching blue and white, as our inspiration.
The very clever Diana Ajih in L.A has published a very nifty infographic on show to select the right bikini for your body shape, and because we love a good picture, that we thought it would be awesome to share!
